The 7/5 cross-strung harp has one
row that is the natural notes (white keys on the
piano) and a row that crosses through that are the
sharps and flats (the black keys on the piano). There
are 7 white keys per octave and 5 black keys, thus the
7/5 designation. Some cross-strung harps are strung in
whole steps on each side, with one row starting at
with C and the crossing row starting with C#. These
are referred to as 6/6, since there are 6 whole steps
in each octave. This book is a jazz chord voicing
library, and can be used to find the notes in a chord
that you may find in a jazz “fake book” or to find
some cool jazz substitutions for your own arranging
and composing. There is an introductory chapter that
discusses the concept of voicing and gives useful tips
on how to use the library. 53 pages.
